Message from the Director

After more than two years of planning, the Kentucky RCFL (KRCFL) officially opened on October 19, 2006. It was a proud day for the Kentucky law enforcement community and the University of Louisville (U of L), who has played a critical role in bringing an RCFL to our region. Now that we are operational, we look forward to continuing our partnership with the U of L, and to advancing the KRCFL’s mission thanks to the many valuable resources available through the University and the FBI. What’s more, because of our prime location on the U of L campus, we are hopeful that its students will take advantage of the unique training opportunities offered by the KRCFL in conjunction with the J.B. Speed Scientific School of Engineering.

Establishing an RCFL requires strong teamwork on the parts of the participating agencies that willingly join this important endeavor with the FBI. The KRCFL's participating agencies include the FBI's Louisville Division, the Kentucky Bureau of Investigation, Kentucky State Police, Louisville Metro Police Department, and the Lexington Division of Police. Their dedication and commitment has made the launching of the 14th FBI-sponsored RCFL possible.

The men and women of the KRCFL eagerly anticipate meeting the digital forensics and training needs of our fellow law enforcement colleagues throughout Kentucky. This facility belongs to us all – and we hope that you will fully utilize the many high quality and unique services and training we have to offer.
